Zimbabwe Honeymoon at the Legendary Victoria Falls Hotel

Tip! Paying for the honeymoon The wedding couple are ultimately responsible for paying for their honeymoon expenses. That means that any portion of the honeymoon that must be paid prior to the wedding (airfare, room deposits and so on) comes out of your pocket.

The Victoria Falls Hotel was built in 1904 and overlooks the Victoria Falls Bridge and the gorges below. Visiting members of Royal families, international statesmen, and celebrities have stayed at the charming Victoria Falls Hotel. The hotel has 10 suites, 96 standard rooms and 84 deluxe rooms. It is set in acres of lush lawns and exotic flora, and is only a ten minute walk from the actual Falls.

The hotel has four beautifully appointed Honeymoon Suites. Included their package they offer the following amenities: chilled champagne on the night of your arrival, red roses, Belgium chocolates, fresh fruit platter on arrival and snack platter in the evening. Champagne breakfast can be arranged along with any other special requirements you might have.

All major tour operators are located on site. The choice of activities, including the breathtaking falls and tropical rain forest nearby, include Zambezi River cruises, bungi jumping, safaris and white water rafting.

Tip! Book your honeymoon last minute. You won’t get as much choice on destination, but you will be able to take advantage of some great last minute discounts and the element of surprise may add to the fun.

Rafting on the Zambezi is seasonal and dependent on water levels and rainfall. Afternoon trips only run in conjunction with low water, from mid-July to the end of January. The rapids are all grade 4 and 5, with full and half day trip prices ranging from $95 - $110 USD. They include transfers to and from the gorges.

Operating all year long, safaris offer a sunrise or sundown option. The sunrise option begins at 06:30 and finishes at 12:00 with a continental breakfast in the summer and a full English breakfast during winter. The sunset option begins at 3:00 and finishes at 7:00. Snacks and refreshments are provided after interaction with the elephants.
